Uganda National Farmers Federation

The core business of UNFFE is to lobby and advocate for farmer enabling environment. The following hereunder are key policy proposals and concerns that UNFFE is lobbying for on behalf of its members.

The Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) in partnership with Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) organised a policy dialogue on Biotechnology and Biosafety on the 18th of July 2008 at the farmer’s center (UNFFE headquarters) in Nakasero, Kampala. Though a lot of effort has been put in by the UNCST to engage stakeholders during the process of development of the National Biotechnology and Biosafety Policy, there is still a lot of mis-information and low public awareness about issues contained in the policy.
