The Uganda National Farmer’s Federation is warning the country will soon have severe food insecurity if government does not come up with seeds that are resistant to climate changes. The manager of Policy Research and Advocacy at the Uganda National Farmers’ Federation, Morrison Rwakakamba says government should ensure that farmers access good quality seeds that are resistant to drought and delivered in a timely manner. Addressing journalists ahead of the 17th national agriculture trade show, Rwakakamba appealed to government to put more resources into the road sector and also remit graduated tax compensation to local government in time. The agricultural trade show is slated for 20th to 26th July in Jinja under the theme promoting value addition in agricultural production for poverty eradication.
